LTN and Sony have integrated Sony's Ci Media Cloud with LTN Schedule Playout, connecting cloud media management directly to real-time linear channel operations. The companies say the workflow is already supporting broadcast operations for joint customer Public Media Management.
Channel operators can browse and preview assets held in Ci from inside the LTN interface, then select material for a playout workflow without navigating a separate object-storage interface. The connection also works in reverse: file assets and recordings of live streams handled by LTN Schedule Playout can be transferred automatically back into Ci.
The technical significance is the removal of a manual boundary between a collaborative media library and the system that originates a channel. That could make the same managed assets easier to reuse across broadcast, pay TV, FAST and streaming outputs while preserving operator visibility. The named PMM deployment gives the announcement more weight than an integration roadmap alone.
The release does not publish its API architecture, supported codecs and wrappers, transfer-performance limits, identity model or failure-recovery behaviour. It also gives no pricing or timetable for broader availability, and it does not identify which parts of PMM's operation use the integration. Broadcasters should therefore validate security, metadata mapping, throughput and operational fallback before treating the connection as a complete cloud-to-air path.
