Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has selected Ateme Titan Edge for three new transportable production units integrated by Broad Service. Each unit uses a fully redundant 1+1 transmit chain and a separate 1+1 receive chain for live satellite contribution.
On transmission, a ruggedised 1RU appliance combines UHD or HD encoding with DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X modulation. The receive side joins professional satellite demodulation and IRD decoding in the same form factor, reducing the number of individual devices and interconnections deployed in the field.
Operators can view live video, configure services and align a satellite carrier from the integrated front panel instead of bringing separate monitoring equipment. For mobile crews, that consolidation can shorten setup while preserving redundant paths for mission-critical feeds.
The published account confirms the architecture and functional blocks, but does not identify codecs, channel counts, latency, power draw or acceptance-test results. Titan Edge is software-based and can add licensed functions later, although RTVE has not detailed its planned upgrade path.
