Ross Video’s Indigo platform brings ingest, browser editing, workflow automation, asset management, editorial and playout into one modular environment.
Ross says the design responds to digital-first newsrooms that publish one story to many destinations while working across separate applications. Indigo shares rights, databases, planning and metadata services that were previously repeated across Media I/O, Streamline and Inception.
Why it matters
A unified interface can remove handoffs and duplicate metadata, but the deeper benefit is a common workflow model. If the same story, media and permissions persist from planning to broadcast and digital publication, automation can act on consistent objects instead of brittle file transfers.
Consolidation also concentrates risk. News organisations should evaluate migration paths, open APIs, export options, offline behaviour, role separation and how the platform coexists with existing NRCS, MAM and playout systems. A browser front end is not automatically an open architecture.
