Ross Video has introduced Rio XL, a three-rack-unit server that expands the company’s Rio Replay platform. The system supports as many as 16 HD camera inputs and eight replay outputs.
Ross positions the server for UHD production and super-slow-motion replay as well as conventional HD capture. Operators retain the Rio Replay interface, allowing facilities to increase channel capacity without introducing a separate control model.
A 16-camera tier can consolidate replay in venues, schools and regional productions that have outgrown smaller systems but still need compact hardware. Output capacity also leaves room for independent programme, clean-feed and analysis paths.
The launch summary does not publish the complete UHD channel matrix, codec choices, storage duration or sharing architecture. Buyers should test ingest/output combinations, slow-motion camera compatibility, network exports and recovery from disk or server failure.
