RED Digital Cinema is preparing an IBC2026 demonstration that combines cinema-camera acquisition with a live broadcast control environment. V-Raptor cameras mounted over a boxing ring will use dual-fisheye spherical lenses to capture immersive views.
The system is specified for 8K capture at 50 frames per second, with real-time fibre transport through RED Connect to Apple Vision Pro headsets. Conventional remote camera panels and switching will sit alongside the immersive path, showing how the cameras can participate in a standard multi-camera workflow.
The setup addresses a practical production question: whether a single high-resolution acquisition platform can support both traditional programme output and a separate spatial viewing experience. It also demonstrates how live cinema colour and exposure controls can be surfaced in a broadcast control desk.
The workflow is an announced demonstration rather than a documented customer deployment. End-to-end latency, headset concurrency, stitching behaviour and the production cost of a scalable service have not been published.
