NEP Group has launched EU-01, an outside-broadcast unit designed around a common European technical framework. The truck uses a UHD HDR SMPTE ST 2110 architecture and combines traditional production hardware with software applications orchestrated through NEP Platform.
EU-01 has 14 workspaces across two control rooms, supports 24 cameras in its base configuration and can expand to 48. It provides six EVS replay positions, up to 192 video inputs and outputs, Riedel intercom and a Dolby Atmos-ready audio room. Lawo HOME, Manifold and Bridge Technologies VB440 applications are integrated through NEP Platform, while NEP's TFC system provides broadcast control and monitoring.
The common design is meant to let crews move between European markets with familiar tools and workflows. EU-01 is scheduled to begin work on ESPN's Eredivisie coverage; operational performance and the limits of cross-market standardisation will become clearer after production use.
