NEP has added TAG Video Systems' software-based multiviewing, monitoring and quality-control capabilities to NEP Platform. The integration makes TAG available through the same interface used to deploy other software applications in NEP's production ecosystem, rather than as a separate monitoring island.

TAG Core is the media-processing layer behind the tools. According to NEP, it can place different media formats side by side, inspect them in real time and apply built-in signal-quality analysis. NEP Platform runs applications from multiple suppliers on commercial off-the-shelf servers and is designed to scale individual functions up or down with each production.

The practical significance is consolidation. A production can place visualization, monitoring and QC beside switching, audio, replay and infrastructure software while NEP handles testing, validated configurations and the underlying environment. NEP says the platform has already supported major live productions in Milan and North America and is now used for football production in its EU-01 outside-broadcast unit.

The announcement does not identify supported input protocols and formats, channel density per server, end-to-end monitoring latency or alarm integration. It also leaves licensing, deployment locations, redundancy, failover behaviour and interoperability with third-party control systems unspecified. Those details will determine whether the integration replaces dedicated monitoring hardware or mainly simplifies procurement and orchestration for existing TAG users.
