Blackmagic Design has introduced HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G for recording eight UHD SMPTE ST 2110 feeds over a 100G network. The appliance writes individual ProRes files to shared storage rather than relying on removable media in each channel.
The captured feeds can be used by DaVinci Resolve replay workflows, connecting acquisition and replay through common media. Redundant networking is part of the design for live-production environments where a single network path is not acceptable.
Why it matters
High-channel-count ISO recording is a practical bottleneck in IP productions. Central storage can make replay and post access faster, but it shifts the engineering burden toward guaranteed network and disk performance.
What still needs checking
Eight UHD streams represent a demanding sustained write workload. Storage qualification, network protection, file recovery and the behaviour at capacity limits need production testing.
