Haivision will show its Makito ONE video transport platform and Falkon X4 mobile transmitter at IBC2026. The two systems address different ends of contribution: configurable rack-based encode/decode and mobile bonded connectivity.
Makito ONE supports H.264, HEVC and JPEG XS, with SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 connectivity. It can be configured for encode, decode or mixed operation and scaled from a single blade to modular chassis. Falkon X4 uses four 2×2 MIMO cellular modems and can bond public or private 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and low-Earth-orbit satellite links.
Why it matters
Contribution networks are becoming less uniform. A production may move pristine low-latency JPEG XS on managed links while using HEVC and bonded public networks for remote cameras. A platform family that spans those conditions can simplify operations, but only if monitoring and control stay consistent.
Haivision says a private-5G demonstration will run below 100 milliseconds. That figure should be evaluated as an end-to-end measured workflow, including encode, network, recovery buffer and decode—not as a radio-only number.
