Haivision has extended Makito ONE beyond Ethernet-only contribution by integrating the encoder-decoder platform with its external CellLink 5G modem and antenna array. The addition is aimed at mobile units, temporary venues and field productions that need a cellular path alongside fixed connectivity.
CellLink 5G contains three 5G modems and dual antennas for 2x2 MIMO. Its weather-resistant enclosure includes magnetic and threaded mounting options and connects to Makito ONE using standard Ethernet. Haivision's SST bonding protocol can distribute traffic across Ethernet and multiple cellular modems, with a preferred wired path and cellular capacity available when congestion develops.
Makito ONE supports dual-channel 4K, HD and HDR contribution with HEVC, H.264 and JPEG XS, plus native SRT for unmanaged wired networks. Adding CellLink makes the same hardware blade usable across fixed and cellular environments and aligns it with Haivision's Falkon, Pro and Air mobile transmitters.
The hardware capabilities and integration are official, but Haivision has not published operator-specific carrier support, aggregate real-world throughput, failover interruption measurements or commercial pricing. Cellular performance will still depend on spectrum, network loading, SIM configuration and the path policies used by each production.
