Broadcast Solutions is demonstrating its DMC mobile-production concept at IBC2026. The system is described as a 16-camera-style production environment running Grass Valley AMPP applications on two Dell servers, with a stated network requirement of about 100 Mbit/s for the demonstrated configuration.
The prototype presents software-defined production as a compact mobile resource rather than a fixed cloud-only service. Processing close to the venue can keep essential operations local while central services, licensing or remote operators remain connected.
Why it matters
A smaller compute footprint could make multi-camera production available to events that cannot justify a full outside-broadcast vehicle. It also demonstrates how software applications can be assembled per job instead of permanently wiring each function to dedicated hardware.
The headline network figure needs context. It may describe control, proxy or selected contribution traffic rather than every uncompressed camera signal. Teams should ask exactly which media paths stay local, what leaves the venue and how the system continues if external connectivity fails.
What remains open
The report does not provide a complete bill of materials, measured end-to-end latency or detailed redundancy design. DMC is a demonstration concept, so production availability, pricing and support boundaries remain to be established.
