Broadcast Solutions is using its IBC2026 outdoor exhibit to demonstrate a mobile edge production vehicle developed from a concept by DMC Production. The system-integrated truck is designed to contain the processing required for a large outside broadcast while remaining connected to DMC's production centres.
The core Grass Valley AMPP environment runs on two Dell servers. Broadcast Solutions says the remote extension requires approximately 100Mbps, allowing control and production resources to be connected over more widely available circuits than a conventional uncompressed remote-production design.
The architecture illustrates a middle path between a fully local OB truck and a centralised cloud production. Time-critical processing can remain at the edge, while staff and shared resources operate from established centres. That can reduce backhaul bandwidth without giving up central workflows.
The source does not publish camera counts, codec, round-trip latency, redundancy, failure isolation or the exact division of functions between truck and centre. The IBC demonstration will show the concept, but production performance and recovery behaviour require measured evidence.
