LYNX Technik has introduced the CDE 1923, a yellobrik module that combines bidirectional 3G-SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 conversion with dedicated reference input and output connections. The product extends the existing CDE 1922 design to address timing at the boundary between baseband and IP production equipment.

The module can handle two SDI-to-IP and two IP-to-SDI video streams at the same time. It supports ST 2110-20 video, ST 2110-30 and -31 audio, ST 2110-40 ancillary data and ST 2022-7 seamless protection across two 10GbE media interfaces. NMOS IS-04, IS-05 and IS-08 cover discovery, connection management and audio mapping.

Its reference input can lock converted SDI outputs to a local bi-level or tri-level signal. The reference output can derive tri-level sync from an ST 2059 PTP clock, and the unit can translate between bi-level and tri-level reference and between 25/50 and 30/60 frame-rate families. That makes it a compact timing bridge for hybrid trucks, studios and facility edges where legacy SDI devices must remain aligned with an IP plant.

LYNX does not publish end-to-end latency, PTP-lock and holdover measurements, formal interoperability results, pricing or a shipping date. The video interfaces stop at 3G-SDI, so single-link 12G-SDI UHD workflows would require another approach. Facilities should verify profile behaviour, redundancy switching and reference stability against their own timing design before deployment.
