Broadcast Management Group has introduced Media Command, a managed broadcast platform running in the company's private, multitenant Cloud Control Center. The service brings recording, media asset management, editing, direct-to-air playout, archive, monitoring and compliance into one operational layer supported by BMG's network operations team rather than deployed as a separate customer stack.
The platform uses a Time Addressable Media Store. Incoming media is divided into addressable segments of roughly two to six seconds and indexed on a timeline while recording continues. Editors can identify moments, build clips and publish highlights before the source event has ended, while multiple downstream uses can reference the same stored segments instead of generating separate edit, proxy, archive and distribution copies.
Media Command accepts live feeds over SMPTE ST 2110, SRT, RTMP, JPEG XS and SDI facility links. Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve plug-ins connect editing to the MAM, while outgoing channel paths include SRT, RTMP, JPEG XS and MPEG transport stream. The published feature set also covers automated QC, captions, as-run logs, SCTE-35 and SCTE-104 markers, role-based access, audit trails and AI-generated transcripts and metadata.
The technical significance is the attempt to connect live ingest and time-based media access directly to managed channel operations. However, BMG has not named the underlying vendors, published interoperability profiles, disclosed measured ingest-to-edit or playout latency, or described geographic redundancy and failover behaviour. Capacity limits, customer isolation tests, pricing and independent performance results are also absent. Broadcasters would still need to validate their formats, control interfaces, security requirements and continuity plan during a pilot.
