Digital Anarchy demonstrated the latest Beauty Box 6 tools at IBC2026. The video plug-in analyses a frame, identifies skin tones and tracks a mask through the shot so smoothing and shine reduction stay on the subject rather than the entire image.
Version 6 adds controls for whitening eyes and teeth. The functions sit beside the existing skin-retouching workflow and are intended to produce a usable first result with a small number of adjustments instead of manual roto on every frame.
Beauty Box works with Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Avid and OpenFX hosts including DaVinci Resolve. Existing acceleration paths include Apple Metal, NVIDIA CUDA and OpenCL for real-time or near-real-time playback on supported systems.
Automatic masks can still fail on difficult lighting, occlusion, motion blur or non-standard skin rendering. Finishers should inspect temporal stability and edge detail at full resolution and retain the untreated source before using the effect across a programme.
