Spanish regional broadcaster Aragón TV has deployed BirdDog O4 outdoor PTZ cameras as additional sources in outside-broadcast productions. The cameras were evaluated with an X4 Ultra and MAKI Live before being used during coverage of the Fiestas del Ángel in Teruel.
A fibre link ran from the OB vehicle to a remote PoE++ switch. Standard Ethernet then carried power, video and control to cameras positioned around the main square. That topology removed separate power and control cable runs at each camera position and kept operation inside the mobile unit.
During key events, Aragón TV sent NDI from each O4 into the OB workflow while generating an SRT stream back to Zaragoza for its OTT service. After the truck departed, the cameras stayed powered and continued to provide remote SRT video. BirdDog says the units operated continuously from Saturday midday until Tuesday morning.
The deployment confirms simultaneous local and remote workflows in a real event, but the source is a vendor case study. It does not publish bitrates, latency, weather conditions, redundancy or how operators handled a loss of the shared Ethernet or PoE path.
