Aputure has released the STORM CS32, a 3,200-watt full-colour point-source LED fixture built around its BLAIR-CG engine with Extended Red. The light covers a stated colour-temperature range from 1,800K to 20,000K.
Published specifications include SSI scores of 93 at 3,200K and 91 at D56, plus more than 90 per cent coverage of Rec.2020. Output is rated at 106,000 lux from a 30-degree reflector at three metres and 5,600K. The head weighs 16.8 kilograms and is IP65 rated.
Control options include DMX, CRMX, Ethernet and Sidus NFC. A 7.5-metre head cable ships with the light, with longer extensions available. The indigo and extended-red emitters are intended to improve natural fluorescence, skin rendering and spectral continuity compared with narrower LED systems.
The unit is priced at 6,990 dollars or 5,600 euros and is scheduled to ship in October in Europe and November in the United States. The output, spectrum, cooling noise and flicker claims still need independent measurement across dimming levels and modifiers.
