The international feed of the 2026 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup included a fully automated camera operated by Studio Automated software and an Egripment HotHead 3 remote head. The match between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern München was played at Signal Iduna Park on 22 August.

The system controlled a professional large-lens camera for a tactical view. According to the suppliers, its model analyses the whole scene and match context rather than following only the ball or an individual player, then applies framing rules associated with football coverage.

Processing ran on standard on-premises hardware without a cloud connection or a separate calibration process. Studio Automated also integrates with other Egripment heads through the DigiLite IP ecosystem, opening a path from compact remote positions to larger sports installations.

The report does not quantify latency, framing errors, operator interventions, compute specification or comparison with a human camera operator. One successful event demonstrates operational use but not performance across different stadiums, weather conditions and sports.
