Zattoo demonstrated a Media over QUIC prototype delivering live video at approximately two seconds of latency. The company compares that with 10 to 13 seconds in the existing test path, an improvement of more than 80 per cent.
The demonstration used a relay to reach browser, Samsung Tizen and Android TV clients. That device spread matters because a low-latency protocol is only operationally useful when it survives the differences between deployed player environments.
Three additional prototypes covered an AI-assisted channel marketplace, live translated subtitles and conversational programme discovery. They show how the operator is testing editorial packaging and search alongside transport, but they are separate experiments rather than one finished service.
MoQ remains under active IETF standardisation, and Zattoo has not announced commercial availability for the prototypes. The test report also lacks scale, packet-loss, startup, synchronisation and CDN-cost measurements, all of which will shape a production decision. Device behaviour on congested consumer networks is another important missing test condition.
