Vislink has introduced DOME as a dedicated private 5G environment for live production. The platform is intended to connect roaming cameras, body-worn units and other production devices without relying on the capacity available from a public mobile operator at a crowded event.

A private cell gives the production team control over which devices join the network, how capacity is assigned and where radio coverage is placed. That can be particularly useful in stadiums, festivals and news operations where consumer traffic changes rapidly and a public uplink may become congested at the moment a feed is needed.

The product does not remove every wireless-production constraint. Camera encoding, end-to-end latency, interference planning and the handoff into the main production network still determine whether a feed is usable. Private 5G also requires suitable spectrum and local regulatory compliance.

The published overview confirms the intended camera use and dedicated-network model. It does not disclose supported bands, cell count, maximum devices, guaranteed throughput, radio redundancy, SIM/eSIM management, encryption profile or measured glass-to-glass latency. Those details are required before DOME can be compared with bonded cellular or traditional microwave systems.
