Viaplay has migrated four free-to-air channels—TV3, TV6, TV8 and TV10—to Encompass Digital Media’s Altitude Scheduling platform. The product is delivered as a managed Scheduling-as-a-Service operation.
Altitude combines cloud-native scheduling technology from Op2mise.ai with specialist staff in Encompass’s media operations centre in Riga. The workflow is intended to coordinate programme changes, rights restrictions, regional variants, metadata, advertising requirements and different delivery platforms.
Scheduling is increasingly a data-integration problem as one programme inventory feeds linear television, streaming, FAST and on-demand services. Centralising rules and metadata can reduce repeated manual entry, but AI-assisted decisions still need auditable constraints when rights, advertising commitments and regulatory obligations are involved.
The successful migration and named channels are confirmed. The announcement does not state which decisions are automated, human approval points, integrations with traffic and playout, service-level targets, disaster-recovery arrangements or measured efficiency gains. The account comes from the service provider rather than an independent audit.
