Newsshooter has tested the 512GB VERYMODEL CFexpress Type B 4.0 card across synthetic workloads and two Nikon cameras. The manufacturer quotes sustained writing up to 700MB/s, but a 16GB AJA System Test Lite run fell to a minimum of 213MB/s after performance dropped around 550 frames.
A larger 64GB test reported about 637MB/s sustained writing. In camera, the card recorded Nikon Z9 8K23.98 high-quality N-RAW without interruption, but the Z9’s 8K60 high-quality mode—requiring roughly 850MB/s—stopped after about 15 seconds. On a Nikon ZR it completed 6K59.94 R3D NE and 6K29.97 ProRes RAW HQ tests.
The practical result is not that the card is broadly fast or slow. It is suitable for many high-resolution modes, but it has limited margin for the most demanding sustained streams. Offload speed also depends on a genuine USB4 or Thunderbolt-class reader and fast destination storage.
The review covers one sample and does not establish long-term endurance, unit variance, thermal behaviour in every camera or data-recovery support. The card carries a two-year warranty and was listed at $249.
