TVU Networks and Sound Dimension are integrating AiFi audio synchronisation with TVU MediaMesh. The companies say the software can align phones, tablets and connected speakers to a live HLS stream with less than 10 milliseconds of device-to-device difference.
AiFi is delivered through iOS and Android SDKs rather than dedicated venue hardware. MediaMesh preserves timing information through the live-video path, while AiFi uses that reference to coordinate playback on nearby consumer devices.
Applications described by the partners include clearer speech, alternative-language audio and personal multiview sound. The approach could let viewers choose an audio experience while a venue or broadcaster continues to deliver one timed video service.
The sub-10-millisecond figure is a vendor claim and is not accompanied by an independent test method, device matrix or large-audience network result. End-to-end lip sync also depends on video-player latency, wireless conditions and operating-system behaviour, so device synchronisation alone does not prove broadcast-wide alignment.
