CRD Audiovisuel used LiveU LU900Q units with native LiveU IQ connectivity to expand live coverage from the start of each 2026 Tour de France stage. The production added paddock pictures, interviews, team mechanics, organisers and crowd interaction.

Stage starts can have fewer fixed connections than finish areas while spectators and media congest local mobile cells. LIQ managed eSIMs and selected the strongest available networks for each unit, using only public 4G and 5G rather than a private or priority service.

LiveU reports that the setup covered 99.9 per cent of the men’s and women’s race requirements. The brief also called for plug-and-play operation, broadcast-quality bitrate, minimal additional crew load and a simple intercom path, avoiding a heavy temporary RF build at each location.

The 99.9 per cent figure is supplier-reported and is not accompanied by transmission logs, outage duration, bitrate distribution, latency or picture-quality measurements. The account therefore documents a successful deployment but not a controlled comparison with private 5G, satellite or dedicated RF.
