Telestream has introduced Surveyor mABR, a monitoring system for multicast adaptive bitrate delivery. The architecture uses managed multicast to distribute popular live services efficiently while retaining HLS or DASH media formats for connected devices and applications.

Surveyor automatically detects and parses MSYNC traffic, joins control and data sessions and reassembles transported media segments for analysis. It cross-checks service catalogues, manifests, multicast mappings and individual variants.

Operational measurements include outages, bandwidth, time to first frame, segment loss, late segments, freshness and continuity. Alarms cover join instability, manifest stalls, sequence discontinuities and missing media, while APIs expose metrics to external monitoring platforms.

The announcement said customer validation was under way with production availability planned for the end of the third quarter of 2026. It does not confirm current general availability, pricing, deployment scale or field results. Operators should therefore verify product status and protocol compatibility before including it in an mABR service design.
