Teleste has announced an adaptive-bitrate receiver for the Luminato 4X4 platform. The module accepts live MPEG-DASH streams, including services protected by Widevine DRM, and converts them into MPEG transport streams for local delivery.
Multicast IP and QAM outputs can operate at the same time. A dense QAM module supports as many as 32 carriers using DVB-C or ITU-T J.83 Annex B. The 4X4 chassis holds up to six hot-swappable modules and can be configured with dual power supplies.
The design targets hotels, hospitals, care facilities, apartment buildings and other sites that still use managed coax or IPTV distribution. An operator can use the same OTT origin that serves direct streaming customers while the receiver creates the format expected by installed televisions and set-top systems.
Availability is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026 for new systems and compatible existing installations. Teleste has not published stream density per receiver, total chassis bitrate, DRM key-management architecture, redundancy between inputs or end-to-end latency. Compatibility therefore needs to be checked against each deployed Luminato configuration.
