Telekom Slovenije has selected Synamedia Iris for advertising regionalisation on international television channels. Its TSMedia subsidiary will use the system to replace designated international ad spots with locally sold Slovenian campaigns, initially including inventory around AMC and BBC services.

The operator says the workflow fits its current infrastructure and does not require changes to viewers’ set-top boxes. TSMedia can continue planning and scheduling through its existing operating processes while gaining access to inventory that was previously difficult to sell locally.

For a pay-TV platform, the technical value lies in separating channel reception from market-specific advertising. A single international feed can remain intact until an identified break is replaced for one territory, creating local revenue without building a separate full-time version of the channel. Reliable cueing, schedule reconciliation and proof of play become central operational requirements.

The announcement confirms the customer, channel groups and no-box-change approach. It does not publish the cue format, insertion location, latency, failover design, reporting granularity, campaign volume or whether targeting extends below national level. Commercial terms and measured viewer impact are also undisclosed.
