Sphere and Disguise have signed a multi-year agreement to co-develop video playback technologies and workflows for existing and future Sphere venues. Sphere will be the first partner to bring Disguise’s next-generation systems to market.
Disguise has supported Sphere since the Las Vegas venue opened in 2023. Its media servers and software process, synchronise and play back content for residencies and corporate events. The expanded relationship moves beyond supplying established tools and makes Sphere a development environment for future iterations.
The timing matters because Sphere is planning venues beyond Las Vegas, including a full-scale site in Abu Dhabi and a smaller National Harbor project. Repeating an immersive production across different buildings will require predictable content versions, synchronised playback and operating procedures that can scale beyond one bespoke venue.
The companies have not identified the new hardware or software, delivery dates, performance targets or whether live inter-venue distribution is part of the confirmed programme. Commentary about future “spherecasts” remains interpretation rather than an announced product. The measurable outcome for now is the development agreement and Sphere’s first-market role, not a completed playback platform.
