SkyLark has added support for AAC carried as LOAS/LATM and for Dolby E data embedded in SDI audio. The AAC functions cover capture, decode, monitoring, remultiplexing and generation, including HE-AAC modes used in distribution chains.

For Dolby E, the system detects SMPTE 337 non-PCM bursts and preserves the coded payload bit for bit. When such a stream is present, gain processing is bypassed so that an apparently harmless level change cannot corrupt the compressed programme data.

The combination matters at the boundary between playout and distribution, where one platform may need to monitor a consumer-oriented AAC stream while also carrying professional contribution audio untouched. Automatic identification reduces the chance that operators route encoded data through a PCM processor.

The announcement does not list every AAC profile, channel configuration, encoder setting, SDI format or interoperability test. There are no published measurements for switching behaviour, decode latency or recovery from malformed bursts.
