The feature film Sketch used a Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K for selected action work inside a school bus. The sequence combined a crash, a chase through a cornfield and a large visual-effects creature, leaving little space for camera bodies or rigging.
Cinematographer Megan Stacey selected the compact camera for positions that could be mounted quickly and safely. Multiple cameras covered the final crash because the production had one opportunity to capture it. The front-window Cinema Camera angle became a key shot, with the production reporting enough dynamic range and colour compatibility to cut against the primary camera footage.
The wider workflow also used Video Assist 12G HDR monitoring, DaVinci Resolve, DeckLink capture and playback devices, a Smart Videohub 20×20 router and MultiView 4K. The technical lesson is that a small secondary camera can protect a unique action event when it is integrated into monitoring and post from the start.
The manufacturer case study does not identify the main camera, recording format, exposure values, rigging method, synchronisation or matching time in post. Image-quality claims are qualitative and not independently tested.
