SGO has introduced Workflows Slate, a browser application for designing burn-ins and slate templates. Instead of rebuilding identification graphics inside an editing or finishing system, users can create layouts in the browser and populate them with dynamic metadata.
Templates can include standard and custom fields, adapt to different clients or delivery specifications and generate thumbnail previews automatically. Completed templates are downloaded for use in Workflows Creator or Workflows Runner, linking the visual design to SGO’s automation and processing engine.
For post facilities, the technical value is consistency. A metadata-driven template can reduce transcription errors across versions, languages and clients while keeping the delivery slate synchronized with the asset record. It also makes a small but repetitive finishing task available to workflow automation instead of requiring an operator to reopen a creative timeline.
The product announcement confirms the browser design and integration path. It does not describe validation rules, supported metadata schemas, font and colour management, API access, version control or behaviour when required fields are missing. Pricing after the launch promotion is also only partly specified.
