Radioplayer has added an In-Car module to its Insight analytics platform. The service reports when, where and for how long drivers listen, which station they select and whether the active bearer is DAB, FM or IP streaming.
Radioplayer says its primary radio interfaces are integrated across 19 car brands, which have begun connecting data to the module. The information is processed within minutes and appears alongside existing out-of-car analytics. The feature became available on September 24 at no additional charge to member broadcasters, and Radioplayer says broadcasters retain ownership of their data.
The technical value is the common view across transmission types. A station can see not only that listening occurred but how the vehicle delivered it, helping engineering and distribution teams relate audience use to broadcast coverage, hybrid-radio switching and streaming availability.
The report does not identify participating vehicle models, geographic coverage, sampling volume, privacy safeguards, retention periods or how bearer changes are normalised between manufacturers. It also contains vendor claims about speed and scale that have not been independently audited. Those details matter before analytics influence transmission investment.
