NETGEAR and Providius have integrated Providius Direct with supported NETGEAR Pro AV switches to simplify remote investigation of AV-over-IP faults. The workflow can enable on-demand traffic mirroring through the Providius Network Visibility and Real-Time Telemetry interface.

Captured traffic is sent to Providius CRIO or Broadcast Media Guard for recording and analysis. That replaces a manual process in which an engineer configures mirror ports, waits for a fault to recur and coordinates access to the affected site.

For distributed production and installed AV, the practical value is repeatability: support staff can gather packet-level evidence from a known switch and route it into tools designed for media-network analysis. The approach may reduce unnecessary site visits and give network specialists better data before escalation.

The announcement does not list every supported switch, protocol coverage, capture bandwidth, retention limits or access-control design. It also provides no measured reduction in resolution time. Remote packet capture is security-sensitive, so organisations should verify authentication, audit logging, data handling and whether mirroring can affect live traffic before enabling it in production.
