Umbrella Collective has launched Promotool.ai, a platform for creating and versioning television and streaming promos. It analyses programme content and is designed to generate variations for different markets, languages, platforms, dates and target audiences from one production environment.

Its Studio mode automates up to 70 per cent of an edit and returns a structured, editable timeline to Adobe Premiere Pro. Avid and DaVinci Resolve support is described as forthcoming, so the current integration claim should not be applied to those systems yet.

Express targets high-volume work that does not require a dedicated editor for every version, while Recarting repurposes an existing campaign into new formats and market variants. The supplier says source films and series remain secure and are not used for model training.

Promotool is already live with an unnamed pan-European broadcast group, where producers tested it on real briefs. The announcement does not publish timing benchmarks, review and approval controls, interchange fidelity, pricing, model provenance or independent security evidence. Those questions matter before confidential unreleased programmes enter an automated workflow.
