Adobe has released Premiere mobile for Android one year after the iPhone version. The free application requires Android 13 or later and at least 5GB of memory, and it can edit and export video at resolutions up to 4K without adding a watermark.
The editor provides frame-accurate trimming and a multitrack timeline for video, music, voice-over, text and effects. Enhance Audio is included for one-tap reduction of background noise in interviews and narration, while templates and Adobe Stock or local media can be added to a project.
Firefly-powered Generative Fill, Image-to-Video and Generate Sound Effects are available inside the app. Additional generative credits and storage require payment, separating the conventional editing feature set from cloud and generation usage that can create ongoing cost or rights considerations.
The Android release does not yet include keyframes, beat detection or continued editing in desktop Premiere, although Adobe says those features are planned. Facilities considering it for newsgathering should also validate colour management, codec support, upload behaviour, account policy and project interchange on approved handsets.
