OpenPocketCine is a free, open-source field-monitor and camera-control application for DJI Osmo Pocket cameras. It is distributed under the Apache 2.0 licence and is available through iOS TestFlight and an Android beta.
The application provides waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope, false colour, zebras, focus peaking, custom frame guides and LUT support. Operators can also adjust ISO, shutter, white balance, focus, recording format and zoom. Phone-level face tracking is translated into DJI camera-control commands, and level information can be used to adjust roll and tilt.
Integration with Frame.io and Blackmagic Cloud is intended to move material from a very small camera into collaborative post workflows. The project reports full support for Pocket 4 and 4P and approximately 80–90 per cent support for Pocket 3. The camera communication protocol was reverse engineered.
The source confirms current features and beta availability, but long-term compatibility depends on DJI firmware and undocumented interfaces. Latency, monitoring colour accuracy, power consumption, transfer security and reliability during long recordings have not been independently quantified.
