Gencom has added NOARecord Pico to its archive-digitisation portfolio. The compact system supports four audio transports and is aimed at collections built from open-reel tape, DAT, MiniDisc and related sources.
Dante output connects digitised audio to an IP audio environment. NOA’s AzimuthGuide assists alignment during transfer, while BitProof is intended to verify the captured data. Metadata automation links technical ingest with the descriptive information needed to find and manage the preserved recordings later.
Four-channel operation is modest compared with industrial migration factories, but it can suit regional broadcasters, universities and cultural institutions with limited staff and floor space. The important distinction from a basic audio interface is the combination of transport handling, quality control and repeatable metadata capture.
The product description confirms source types and the named workflow tools. It does not publish supported sample formats, converter specifications, real-time QC rules, metadata schemas, storage integration, throughput per operator or pricing. Long-term preservation still depends on repository policy and redundant storage beyond the ingest station.
