LYNX Technik has introduced a Series 5000 frame synchroniser and multi-format processor that combines 12G-SDI video conversion with extensive MADI and AES routing. Its video engine performs up, down and cross conversion, frame-rate conversion and motion-adaptive de-interlacing, with diagonal interpolation intended to reduce moving-edge artefacts.
The card provides one 12G-SDI input and four outputs, one of which can operate as a loop-through. It also includes crop, zoom, horizontal flip and a test-pattern generator that can be activated automatically when the input disappears. Optional SFP modules add single-mode, multimode or CWDM fibre connectivity.
Audio is managed through a 136-by-200 crossbar. The design supports up to 64 channels carried with 12G-SDI, 64-channel MADI input and output, plus four AES inputs and outputs. Operators can route, swap, mute, mix and adjust gain, while presence, silence and overload monitoring provide basic operational alarms. Dolby payloads pass transparently but are not decoded.
