Kiloview and Zixi have integrated native Zixi protocol support into the Kiloview D350 video decoder. The function is available through a firmware update and allows a Zixi stream to enter a production or monitoring workflow without a separate protocol-conversion appliance.
Zixi’s transport technology includes adaptive error correction, retransmission and hitless failover options for contribution over public internet, cellular and other variable networks. The D350 already supports several IP video formats, so the update adds Zixi to a multi-protocol receiving position.
Removing an external gateway can reduce rack space, cabling and another operational handoff. It also concentrates more responsibility in the decoder: monitoring must show whether a problem comes from the sender, network recovery, protocol session or downstream video output.
The companies confirm that native support is available now. They do not publish tested firmware versions, supported Zixi features, maximum stream count, codec combinations, recovery latency, management integration or security-hardening guidance. Deeper product integration is planned but not yet specified.
