Ikegami will show the UHK-X700VN in the United States at NAB Show New York. The portable camera uses three 2/3-inch CMOS 4K sensors with global shutters, preserving broadcast-lens operation while avoiding rolling-shutter distortion and flash banding.
A variable neutral-density filter lets operators adjust exposure while keeping the selected iris and depth of field. An automatic mode can coordinate ND, lens iris and electronic gain, and the system supports HLG HDR plus BT.2020 and BT.709 colour spaces.
With the BSX-100 base station, the camera can output 4K and HD simultaneously, including mixed-source workflows. A 12G-SDI output is available directly at the head for wireless integration, with optional capture up to 2x in 4K or 8x in HD.
Orders are scheduled to open in November. Ikegami has not published pricing, sensitivity measurements, dynamic range, noise performance or details of the automated exposure transitions. Those characteristics will determine whether the cinematic controls remain predictable in live shading.
