Apple has released Final Cut Camera 2.4 with a redesigned control surface and new production functions for iOS 27. The application now exposes shutter angle, ISO and white balance more directly, while adding false colour, clipping indicators, adjustable focus peaking and a recording tally indicator.

On iPhone 18 Pro, operators can set the variable aperture directly or select shutter-priority and aperture-priority modes. Footage recorded in ProRes or Apple Log can also use Cinematic mode effects, including editable focus points and depth of field in Final Cut Pro.

The most broadcast-specific additions are RGB Parade and histogram scopes, clean SDI output through an HDMI-to-SDI converter, and genlock offset. The offset is intended to compensate for display-capture artefacts or timing differences between an iPhone and other synchronized cameras. That moves the phone closer to a controlled auxiliary camera rather than an isolated mobile recorder.

Apple confirms the functions and free update availability. It does not publish supported converter lists, output raster and frame-rate combinations, measured timing range, sustained thermal limits or an independent test of colour and latency. Crews should validate those boundaries before putting the device into a live chain.
