Eutelsat is using CABSAT to demonstrate multi-orbit connectivity for broadcasters, including a live contribution workflow over the OneWeb low-Earth-orbit network. The company is presenting the LEO service beside its geostationary video capacity and cloud/IP integration.

The model separates tasks according to network characteristics. LEO connectivity can support mobile or quickly deployed contribution, while GEO remains suited to efficient one-to-many distribution. Eutelsat says its 7/8 degrees West video neighbourhood reaches 95 percent of satellite homes in the Middle East and North Africa.

For broadcasters, a combined service could reduce the need to force contribution and primary distribution through the same transport. The operational challenge is maintaining common monitoring, timing, security and service ownership as signals cross orbital and terrestrial networks.

The source reports the demonstration and company reach claims but does not publish measured latency, throughput, service availability, codec settings or failover behaviour. The 95 percent figure is also a vendor claim and should not be treated as an independently audited audience measurement.
