United Group has begun rolling out EON 3.0 across Southeast Europe, starting with Telemach in Slovenia and Vivacom in Bulgaria. Greece, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro are scheduled to follow on the same cloud-based technical foundation.

The platform supplies a common core for Vivacom, Nova and Telemach while allowing each operator to retain its own brand and configuration. A redesigned programme guide, household profiles, AI recommendations and search across titles, genres and actors are available on set-top boxes, smart televisions, phones and tablets.

United Group says the applications now carry the same guide, content and personalization functions as the box, allowing some customers to begin watching without an engineer visit. A new EON Smart Box remains available with Wi-Fi 6 and claimed performance up to 50% faster than its predecessor.

The company does not publish cloud regions, availability targets, codec and latency profiles, migration counts, recommendation accuracy, device coverage or the proportion of customers expected to go boxless.
