Germany’s DTM series and production partner TV Skyline are using Riedel Easy5G as the primary transmission system for onboard camera signals. All 21 DTM cars carry onboard cameras, and six also carry additional action cameras for extra views.

The private network uses 100MHz of spectrum and is specified for uplink data rates up to 140Mbit/s. Depending on a circuit’s topography, the design requires four to seven antenna locations. Riedel DIVA+ handles data, intercom, video and audio around the trackside production environment.

Unlike a one-off demonstration, the platform is intended as a permanent production layer that can add camera angles and carry higher data volumes. The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany workflow already integrates 24 camera angles alongside the DTM deployment.

The partners report reliable high-resolution transport at racing speed, but have not published codec bitrates, glass-to-glass latency, handover statistics, RF availability or failure performance. The 140Mbit/s figure is network uplink capacity, not a guaranteed per-camera rate.
