The Digital Radio Mondiale Consortium presented receivers and services at IBC2026 covering DRM across the supported broadcast bands. Several devices also combine DAB+, analogue radio and China Digital Radio, reflecting markets where listeners and broadcasters need more than one transmission standard.

Starwaves demonstrated a compact DRM and DAB+ receiver with an Android companion application. Other demonstrations highlighted the DRM Emergency Warning Functionality and a UNESCO-linked distance-learning concept that can carry structured information alongside radio services.

Multistandard hardware can reduce the risk of asking consumers or institutions to choose one digital path before national transitions are complete. Data services also give public broadcasters a way to deliver alerts and educational material where mobile broadband coverage is limited or congested.

The report does not provide receiver prices, sensitivity measurements, power consumption, certification status, broadcaster commitments or a timetable for new national launches. Demonstrations establish technical availability, not audience adoption or a completed transition.
