Dotscreen is addressing two persistent connected-TV problems: fragmented operating systems and the limited processing available in many deployed television sets. Its application approach is based on HTML5 and JavaScript, allowing a common service to be adapted across smart-TV platforms without rebuilding every feature from the ground up.
For multiview, Dotscreen is working with Broadpeak on a remotely composed output. A viewer selects the desired live feeds, but the television receives a single combined stream through one player instead of decoding and arranging several streams locally.
The design extends multiview to hardware that cannot reliably run multiple video decoders. It also gives operators one controlled output path for synchronisation and presentation, although server-side composition adds processing and distribution load upstream.
Dotscreen also cited work around RTBF’s SGAI advertising deployment and services for TV5Monde, France 24 and RMC. The report does not provide multiview latency, maximum pane count, codec profiles or commercial availability, so operators still need device-by-device validation.
