DiGiCo has introduced the Quantum638 digital mixing console with 256 input channels and 128 auxiliary or subgroup busses. The surface has three 17-inch touchscreens and 38 physical faders, giving operators multiple simultaneous views of a large show file.

The desk can be ordered with a single or dual engine and includes dual DMI slots and hot-swappable power-supply options. Its processing allocation includes a 48-by-48 matrix, 128 nodal processing positions, 64 Mustard processing strips and 16 Spice Rack units.

A theatre-specific Quantum638T version adds the software conventions required for cast, cues and role-based workflows. Connectivity options include MADI and Optocore, with Dante and Fourier Audio integration available in the wider system.

Pricing, shipping volume, power draw, acoustic figures and redundancy-switching measurements are not published in the report. The practical limit of the engine depends on sample rate, processing choices, I/O cards and software configuration, which require project-specific confirmation.
