Digital Alert Systems has released version 6.1 for its DASDEC-III emergency-messaging platform. The update includes tighter user-session handling and configuration for OpenID Connect single sign-on, giving operators another way to align alerting access with organisational identity controls.
Operational changes cover EAS-Net reliability and file management, SSL handling for Canadian CAP workflows, MPEG-DASH refinements, decoding, audio sampling and CAP reporting. The vendor also lists broader security updates following new FCC requirements that took effect on 29 September.
Alerting systems sit in a sensitive position: they must be reachable by authorised staff while resisting misuse and continuing to pass time-critical messages. Combining identity, transport and reporting changes in one release therefore warrants a planned upgrade with configuration backups and end-to-end alert tests.
The release is available without charge to version 6 customers and other eligible systems, while DASDEC-II receives a separate 5.6 release. The source does not include independent security assessment results or describe every migration dependency, so operators should review their exact hardware and integrations before deployment.
