Cobalt Digital’s Pacific compression line has received two IBC product awards for configurations that connect satellite contribution with hybrid IP production. The useful engineering detail is the combination of reception, repair, decoding and multiple output domains.
The Pacific ULL-DEC-SAT-DEMOD adds a DVB-S/S2 demodulator and can expose decoded signals over ASI and IP at the same time. It also supports VSF TR-06-4 Part 7, allowing an internet path to repair data damaged on the satellite route in a hybrid contribution workflow.
A separate Pacific ULL-DEC configuration offers simultaneous SDI and optional ST 2110 or IPMX output. Its frame synchronizer can produce a PTP-locked signal for the IP side, which helps a broadcaster introduce routed media networks without abandoning baseband destinations immediately.
The report confirms those features but not codec profiles, channel density, repair latency, satellite-to-IP switchover behaviour, PTP boundary conditions, interoperability test results or availability of the IPMX option. Award recognition is not a substitute for operational benchmarking.
