UK outside-broadcast company Cloudbass has built an in-house cine-style camera system called Cloudcam. The objective is to deliver shallow-depth-of-field and stabilised moving pictures in live sports without treating the look as an isolated one- or two-camera novelty.
The prototype combines a Sony A7 full-frame camera with a DJI RS5 gimbal and DJI video transmission. Cloudbass has added its own remote-control layer and can fit a zoom servo, allowing production teams to operate exposure, framing and lens functions from the live workflow.
Owning the complete system gives the OB provider more scope to repeat the setup across entrances, presentation areas and other positions where conventional hard cameras may not create the desired separation. It also lets engineering and creative teams refine the rig between jobs.
Cloudbass has described the design and intent but not the exact camera model, codec path, delay, range, tally, return-video or intercom integration. The system remains an internally developed production tool, so its reliability, weather protection and performance under crowded RF conditions are not independently documented.
